Well, I just absolutely love these pics of Mark & Joep from their recent training in Yuma, Arizona so I had to post them on here to share with everyone. Mark got Joep a couple of months ago and the word on the street was that he would be bitten by this dog. Well, we have decided that Joep is just simply misunderstood. (not by me, I still understand him to be scary) Despite a few growling battles, Mark & Joep seem to be getting along great. Mark says that he is Duc (his first Iraq MWD) reincarnated which makes me quite happy to know that he will have such an amazing dog to take on deployment next. His records indicate he is a Dutch Shepherd, but after further review, I am going to go with a great dane mix :). Check out the tongue and head on that guy. He has quite the personality as well. It seems that the other Marines aren't too excited about having to feed Joep as he makes it a game. It's almost like he knows they fear him. He will take his food bowl in his mouth, and throw it across his kennel as if to say "come on in and see if you can get it from me." Joep usually gets to keep his bowl until the next feeding. Mark loves him and couldn't be happier with getting him as his Military Working Dog.

That's so awesome. I loved hearing the stories about Duc, so I cannot wait to hear these. It fascinates me how their relationship is truly a best friend one.
