Rodeo Girl

One of Marks Marines is also a bullrider so we all went one night to watch him get on some practice bulls. Dakota was sure that she was going to get on one...but only if it was purple. Once we told her that there probably wouldn't be any purple ones, she had her sights set on a small brown one that was only there to receive vaccinations. She kept asking if Mr. Andy was going to get on the brown one for her. We really would like to have Dakota grow up around the rodeo and this was a chance to get her out to see the bulls buck. The picture of her kneeling down is her getting "smaller to hide from the scary bulls." Mark of course couldn't resist being in the arena and pulling the gates...I am thoroughly convinced that I will never get to sit or stand side by side with him at a rodeo. Mr. Andy did really well and covered all three bulls he got on. One of them actually tried to turn back and get Mark while he was on the gate. Dakota just giggled as the bull stuck his horn in between daddy's legs to help him over the gate. Mark was fine and enjoyed his adrenaline rush for the evening. I am a little surprised that Mark didn't try to get on any since he now meets the requirements that I had set forth as to when he could ride again...1) it had to be 1 year from his surgery so his arm was good and healed...2) he had to be able to still gain a paycheck even if he got hurt. Gotta love the Marine Corps! I'm sure the time will come again when he will get on but we made it out of that night without him doing so.
