Another Day Closer!

Little man is now eating 70cc's from the bottle. He is also nursing as well and taking about the same so either way, he is showing that he can eat by mouth rather than tube!!! The waiting game begins now to a) make sure he can tolerate those amounts without throwing up b) show consistency in eating c) gain weight because he is only around 7 lbs 15 oz now. Still no idea on what this means for a time frame but we are still moving in the right direction. He has tolerated the amounts so far and has gained a little weight but it has to show over a period of time. Santa came to see him yeseterday...he slept through it but they got a cute picture of them together! This picture ( you have to look close) is a picture of the picture :). And the other picture is of him doing what he does best, sleeping. The IV in this picture is long gone and he is free once again to scratch his face with BOTH hands!

I will post more later because we had a big day yesterday with Dakota. I haven't had a chance to get the pictures off of our camera but I will get them up tonight or in the morning. We decided that Dakota needed a special day because of how amazing she has been. Check back for pics and details. In the meantime, you can click on Mimi & Papa's blog and find the "starting the race" post. There are some great pictures of Papa & Dakota racing down the tunnel at Duke!

On another note, please say a little prayer for Baby Carter who is the little boy of our housemates Brad & Kellie. He has been doing so great but has had a few setbacks here lately. We have a link on our blog to their blog so feel free to read their amazing story and journey through CDH. They are amazing people and have changed our lives with their generosity and motivated us with their determination! Carter continues to fight so hard through so many obstacles. These boys have no choice but to grow up tough!!!

Hey guys!
Boy we sure do miss you! I truly appreciate you taking time to keep this blog up...I know your crazy schedule, and the stress you're under first hand now...It was awesome to step back and see how you and Mark are working together as a team to balance Bodee in the hospital, and Dakota who needs you both! This blog is the next best thing to being there. I know it takes a lot of time, it's very much appreciated!

Baby Carter has been in my prayers ever since I met Brad and Kellie. They are amazing people, and I feel blessed to have met them. They're positive attitude in their trials was a blessing to me while we were there. I am following their blog and will continue to pray for him. Do you think that they would mind if I put him on the prayer roll at the temple? It's time for me to make a call and put Bodee's name back in (they only keep them for 2 weeks)...I'd like to put Carter's in to. Let me know what you think.
Love you all very much

Wow! What a journey. So neat to hear that God has provided other folks going through similar situations so that you can encourage and love on each other! I just can't believe that our dear friends, the Tuttles are right there at Duke near y'all, waiting on a new heart for their baby boy. What a small, small world. SO HAPPY AND THANKFUL to hear that Bodee condition is improving. What a cutie pie!

I had to stop by and read about Bodee. I am a mom of a 3 year old girl who had an undiagnosed R-CDH. It really shakes up your world, especially when there is an older sibling at home. I read a lot of the babies stories online and "knew" Parker before she was born. We are so excited that Parker's House is able to help families like yours and Carter's---how great is that! We hope that Bodee keeps getting stronger and closer to going home. We'll keep following his story! Best of luck to your family.
