Well, tonight Bodee got moved into a new bed. This one is for babies that don't require the heating element or any of the other bells and whistles! This is great news because it means that Bodee is still soaring through all of this. They have taken him off of his TPN (nutrients etc) and his Lipids (Fats) and he is up to 50 cc's each feeding. They will continue to increase his amounts but all is looking and working great! We are still trying to work on getting him to take a bottle so he can feed on his own without the aid of the nasal feeding tube. As of right now, his respiratory rate increases too much when he tries to eat from a bottle so they are only going to try to bottle feed him every couple of feedings. The higher respiratory rate is a typical CDH condition and is due to the fact that his left lung isn't as developed as his right. Little Bodee just needs to figure out how to suck on the bottle, swallow the milk and breathe all at once and right now, it is just too much for him! Poor thing...he'll get it soon though. They have therapists that work specifically on this so we know he will pick it up in no time.
Dakota has been having a blast with Mimi and Papa here. They are running her ragged...or is it the other way around??? They spent the day doing puzzles, dancing and watching Care Bears at our "farm house." I have posted a picture of Mimi holding baby brother and will get one up of Papa holding him as soon as we get him back in there to hold the little guy. All is well here and we continue to appreciate your prayers for continuous healing for Bodee.
