Baldhead Island

BEWARE...TONS OF PICTURES TO FOLLOW...

For my 31st birthday Mark and Dakota planned an amazing day for the family. Mark had always talked about a place called Baldhead Island that he had visited while on his mission so we really wanted to visit there. Well, last Saturday Mark took us over there. You have to ride a ferry over to the island and then you have to rent a golf cart to get around the island. There are only a few vehicles on the entire island. We spent most of the time on the beach (surprise surpries) but really enjoyed just exploring the island. The first picture is of the invitation that Mark and Dakota put together for me...I couldn't quite understand why my office smelt like something was burning until i got this :). She loves going on adventures so this made it special for her as well. We had a blast and I really appreciate Mark making the day so special for me. Bodee was a trooper and slept most of the time and Dakota just absolutely had a blast as you will see by the pictures.

Old Baldy Lighthouse...the oldest standing lighthouse in NC. We will have to go again when it is open to climb to the top.

Dakota's shoes come off the instant she hits the sand...the water was a little chilly but our little penguin didn't seem to mind at all.

This is Bodee-man hanging out in the golf cart while Daddy and Dakota went to look for Alligators. It was too chilly for them to be out but Dakota enjoyed thinking she might see some.

And lastly, thank goodness right...is dad and Dakota on the way back up the beach. She ran the entire time we were there but all of the sudden decided daddy needed to carry her. Take note too, Mark rolled his pants up to keep them from getting wet...uhmmm, nice try!
