Okay, so Dakota started soccer on Tuesday. We didn't have anything to report after her first practice since she wouldn't even touch a ball and barely did the warm up stretches. Our little outgoing crazy girl turned shy on us for those first 30 minutes. We got home, put a ball in front of her and it was on. So, we figured Thursday night would be better. It was much better however she still locks up whenever her coach (which is a man) would talk to her. She could be in mid kick and if he mentions her name, she runs right over to me. Hmmmmmm, baby steps I guess. She did partner up with another little girl while they were kicking back and forth so here are some pictures of that as well as of her doing her stretches. The top picture is of her when we left the store...she had to weart her shoes out (of course) and they looked great with her skirt and sweater :) She was super cute and was having a blast most of the time. She hates to leave when practice is over and actually throws an annoying fit when it is time to go. It is frustrating for us to see such a different little girl but we think it will get better each practice. She practices Tues / Thurs and has games on Saturdays. There are two other girls on the team and four boys that are ALL BOY! Mark got some great video of them just running around and tackling eachother but I think it is too long to post. The world of Pee-wee sports has begun and we are so excited to see how she enjoys it all!

Doin' some serious stretches...

So I am gonna go out on a limb and say that she is going to be right-footed :). Dakota kickin with all her might!

10 minutes into the long strenuous 30 minute practice Dakota "had" to have a water break. Now I have seen this girl run non-stop for an hour so I am thinking she was just anxious to use her purple water bottle...what other color could it have been?

Dakota waiting her turn to kick the ball in the goal

And lastly, the main goal for this season apparently is to teach the kiddos not to use their hands. This is Dakota's modification. She quickly turned to daddy and said, "look daddy, I'm surfing." Surfing....Soccer....whatever, it was cute :).

Super cute! Whew--I bet you are a busy woman with soccer and a new baby. You are my hero! :)
I'm so glad that she likes soccer! She's had the coordination for a year now! I love the game. It was really fun for Dad and I to coach the boys team when they were this age...this is one of my favorite ages. Our Saturdays used to be all soccer. We had Tanji and Brandon and Jamison on competition teams and Mark and Matt on separate teams...5 games and then Dad was a referee for a mens league! We just fixed a picnic and spent the day, it was great! Have fun!
