So Bodee-man had another follow up appointment with our local pediatrician and all went great. He weighed in at 12 lb 2 oz...up almost a pound from last week. We actually had to see a different doctor because his pediatrician wasn't available but seeing as how it was Dr. Barrett, the doc that was on-call the night Bodee was born, we didn't mind one bit. He is the one that kept the Naval Hospital staff from bagging Bodee when he was having trouble breathing because he knew of the possibility of CDH. It was actually amazing to hear his side of it all and to see his jaw drop at how well little-man is doing. His respirations are still in the 60's but we have just determined that to be Bodee's norm...for now. They took him off of the diuretic (FINALLY) so he is officially only on a multi-vitamin. Dr. Barrett was talking about the night Bodee was born, and how after looking at his x-rays that night, he couldn't believe how well he was doing. He actually stuttered a little and then stopped talking...I looked up wondering why he had stopped and he looked at me and said, "someone was watching over this little one." Unknown to us, he had kept up with Bodee at Duke through phone calls and was in awe at his amazing progress. At the end of the appointment, we asked when we needed to come in again and these were his words...(those two little words...) "we will plan to see him again at his 4 month appointment and start treating him like a "normal baby." While this is a little scary to me because I know that complications can still arise, it was so great to hear those words and to know that he felt like Bodee was doing well enough to only come in for regular appointments.
So, off we went...down to get his SHOTS! Yuck! I was reminded once again of this little guys temper as he turned almost purple when he screamed out! He was not happy about them and I could tell it was anger rather than just pain because there was no wimper whatsoever in the cry. He normally wimpers a little with the pain but he was straight up ticked off! I put him in his car seat, stuck a paci in his mouth and off to sleep he went. I think he's is just tired of being messed with...can't blame the guy!
Here is our lazy cowboy...this is the Horse Jumper that Santa brought Bodee. He is strong enough now to hold his head up...he is just choosing not to! Too busy watching whatever is on the TV.

And here is our little guy trying to talk. Of course, as soon as the camera came out he wasn't performing but he makes some noises. We were talking about the rivalry between mom and dad as to who is better, the Mavs or the Jazz! It's obvious by his outfit who he will be cheering for!

WTG Bodee! I'm glad he's doing so well!
Bodee is such a CDH super star! He's also really, really cute. Congratulations on a clean bill of health. We are so happy for your family.
You guys deserve to hear those words...I know I'm not the parent and I have not brought him to the doctors...but he looks normal to me :)
