I have been talking to Dakota about getting her haircut for a long time now and every time I mention it she says, "not today mom, tomorrow." So, I haven't pushed the issue. It didn't help that Mark didn't want me to ever get her hair cut but I think 3 years...is long enough. I can't believe I didn't get it done before now. Anyway, we walked passed a Fantastic Sams today while we were out and I asked Dakota if she wanted to have her hair cut. And to my surprise, she got a huge smile on her face and said, Yes! She walked right in and didn't even hesitate for a second. I only had a couple of inches cut off and she did GREAT. She didn't whine and scream when the lady combed out her hair...unlike when mom does it and you would think she was dying :). She sat there really still and loved every second of it. It is still long, curly and beautiful so hopefully dad won't be too sad :). You can't even really tell in the pics. Sorry they are kind of fuzzy...I wasn't expecting to do the haircut thing so my phone had to capture the moment!!!

I will never forget walking into the living room of Parker's house one morning and there was Mark the big bad marine...with his cowboy boots and big belt buckle...combing the knots out of Dakota's hair and trying to style it for the day. I laugh to myself every time I think about that.

Dear Dakota,
I think your hair is beautiful. You are such a big girl for getting your hair cut. My Mommy and Daddy keep saying that I will have to get my hair cut soon. Maybe you can give me some advice.
Love,
Baby Carter
