Cardiologist

Bodee had his appt yesterday with the Cardiologisy at ECU. Doc said he does have an abnormal murmur but in his words, "it can't hurt him and should fix itself with time." Bodee had an EKG and an Echocardiogram so that the doc could take a better look at his heart. It was really cool to see his little heart and all the blood flowing through it. I didn't get a chance to see the one they did at Duke when he first arrived. I asked the doctor if murmurs normally show up after 3 months and he said that Bodee had this at birth but that it had just become evident recently for some reason. I was really surprised that Bodee sat still while he was doing the ECHO but we realized shortly why...he was poopin for the doctor :). We had to take a break in the middle because Bodee got a little uncomfortable after he did! The doctor drew me a nice little diagram so I could understand what was going on. He called it a "mild pulmonic valve stenosis." Good thing he broke it down for me cuz that meant nothing :). I am just glad Bodee is okay and that there's nothing to worry about. I am starting to wonder when this kiddo is going to give us a break. We will go back to see the doctor in late June to make sure all is progressing the way it should!

Update on the little guy...he weighed in at 12lb 8oz yesterday and 24 inches long. It was good to see that he was gaining weight again and I am hoping the last nurse just messed up in weighing him. He is also starting to push himself up with his legs when I hold his hands. He looks awfully proud of himself when he does it. He is getting stronger by the day.

This picture is of the same day and big sister decided he needed to be more comfy...so she put a picture on him, then his boppy pillow and then her blanket. Am I a bad mom for taking a picture before getting all of it off of him????
