Am I a Bad Mom?

I've posted several times about how I have to choose my battles with Dakota. She gets to wear what she wants...for the most part...and fix her hair the way she wants...for the most part LOL. We were heading out the door and she came and asked...actually, she told me she was wearing these in her hair. I chose this battle to fight...of all the bows and clips she has she chose the big fluffy blue bunny clips...and they were perfectly placed. I won this battle after a little bit of a fight...am I mean? LOL (if you say yes, you are more than welcome to take her with you to Target with her choice of outfits next time you see her)

Dakota and I were baking cookies while Bodee sat patiently in his high chair. He was playing with his sippie cup and just chillin out. When it came time for Dakota and I to "clean the beaters" he watched with his feet kickin and arms floppin. When he realized we weren't planning on sharing, he got mad and started screaming and crying. I quickly licked the dough off of mine and gave it to him to see if he truly was crying about that...sure enough. Turd!!!
And finally, we went out to the beach with our neighbors and another K9 couple last night to watch them fish for shark...(I know)...I was sippin on a Diet Coke and Bodee reached out and grabbed it before I knew what he was doing. Of course we had to recreate it for the picture but he is strong when he sees something he wants!

We had fun last night and I will post pictures of Dakota petting baby sharks sometime tonight or tomorrow. We did, however, feel Mark's absence even more last night. Doing these types of things really makes me miss him since he would have LOVED to be there fishing with his little girl on the beach. We are over halfway through the deployment and just pray that the next half speeds by so we can get back to doing these fun things together as a family again.

Happy Fathers Day my love and know that we are missing you and thinking about you! We love you!!!

Happy Father's Day to Mark and to you, Kristen for being Mommy & Daddy while he's away. Looks like Bodee is going to be a big help cleaning the beaters and bowl after you and Dakota bake all those pupcakes in that book! Can't wait to see you guys next weekend--Mark will be missed.

Happy Father's Day, Mark!

Kristen, I know how hard it is to play mommy and daddy as I have watched my sister do it for 14 years while my brother-in-law was off in some deployment. Give yourself a huge pat on the back today as you totally rock girl!

I cannot wait to see y'all Saturday and to finally meet my boys!

Not a bad mom is my opinion. I chose to make the rule for my home that when we are going out in public it is my choice on what works and is appropriate. At home they can wear whatever their hearts desire. Still have small battles but they know thats the rule. The cute little stink is testing how far she can push mommy. Gotta love it!
