Here are the pics from the 4th. We had a great day...we had lunch over at our neighbor Susan's house which is where we took the family pics. Then we went over to Sally's and cooked hot dogs over Elizabeth's cool charcoal fire pit. Dakota had a blast playing with her friends Addie, Megan & Olivia and Bodee and Israel hung out on the floor together :). We watched the fireworks at a nearby park and Dakota was the loudest one out there. She kept saying they were amazing and so beautiful throughout the entire show. Bodee took it all in and just stared at all the lights. He acted like he was going to get fussy when they first started but I'll have to admit, they startled me too :).
They had some rides and games for the kids and Dakota & Addie wanted to ride the ponies...(by the way, they both chose this over snow cones and cotton candy...Dakota's daddy would be so proud). I absolutely love fireworks and the 4th is one of my favorite holidays. It was tough to focus during this one, however, because I was missin the hubby. I talked to him earlier in the day though and he said they were cookin steaks, playin scrabble and just relaxing...guess you can't shoot off a whole lot of fireworks over there LOL. In '04 when he was over there on the 4th, the insurgents were providing a firework show for him...so I was happy to hear there wasn't any of that this time around :). Sorry once again for so many pics but dad needs to see all these...they really show how much fun Dakota was having!

Looks like you had a great day! I love the smiles in these pictures. I too was missin' Mark. Glad to hear he missed the "fireworks"! We missed them as well.
