I really wanted to make sure to get this into the blog a) to share with everyone and b) so that I can keep track of this little guy. We are spending the week with my parents at a beach condo they rented on Topsail Beach and I really wondered how Bodee would do away from our house. He has done great and continues to sleep through the night. However, he also continues to be my early riser. It's turned out to be a blessing here because I enjoy getting up early and looking out over the ocean. So for now, I will thank him :) As for his progress towards being a "big boy"...yesterday was a big day for him. We have been babbling to him for quite sometime because I thought it would be cool for him to say da da by the time Mark came home. Well, yesterday he woke up and was just babbling away. I know they are just sounds they make but it was so cute to hear him saying all of them at once. We can't ever say that he said ma ma or da da first because they both came together.
He also was using the na na sounds too. So all day yesterday and most of the morning today, he continues to squeal (which he's been doing for a while...Mark heard him do this once and was shocked that such a high pitched noise was coming from his Boy...lol) and also is saying na na da da ma ma etc. He also is starting to mimic his sister. When she screams...he will scream or squeal back. Dakota loves it and it's a fun little game for her to play with him...despite the noise it creates :).
The other new development for Bodee is that he is now doing the "low crawl" to get to objects. He will scoot on his belly by using his arms out in front of him. He is so proud of himself when he does and gives a huge smile when he gets to the toy. I am trying to catch it on video but every time the camera comes out, Dakota wants to come help and then all bets are off. He is only interested in staring at her when she is around so he freezes up. I will post pictures as soon as I get back to my house :)
Dakota is doing great too. She has gotten right back into swimming and is back to her fearless self. She is jumping in off the side and loves to go under water. Yesterday, I was able to teach her to swim with a snorkel. It was so cute to listen to the little breaths she was making through it...very quick and exaggerated. It reminds me a lot of myself when I snorkel :). She is so much fun and is loving getting to spend time with Pop Kiki and Grandma Brenda. She has decided that she would rather go to the pool now instead of the beach...I'm hoping I can talk her back into the beach today or tomorrow. I will keep you posted :)
