3 year old translations

I thought it would be fun to share with everyone (and to have record myself) of some of the words Dakota says that take some translation. She gets her words mixed up sometimes but even after we teach it the right way, she still gets a kick out of saying them the wrong way.

Hangaber = Hamburger

She will actually go through sounding this one out with you..."ham" "bur" "ger" "hangaber"...it never fails.

Pupcakes = cupcakes

This one may be a result of Strawberry Shortcake and the little dog named pupcake.

Flippin Pole = Fishing Pole

Every now and then she gets this one right...I think she does it more for the reaction she gets.

Foots = Boots (Dora's monkey Boots)

When she wears boots, they are boots...when she watches Dora, it's foots. "Buh Buh Buh Foots"

The Dark is On = Its dark outside and time to go to sleep

I love daylight savings :)... this comment comes a little earlier these days.

Becided = Excited

She gets so becided about everything.

Afrin = Apron

Anytime we cook or bake something together she runs in the kitchen and says, "we need to put our cookin afrins on"

Nuffin = Muffin

She gets these confused with pupcakes. Making these also requires the use of the cookin afrins.

Be End = The End

When we read our nightly stories, she always has to say "be end" even though we try to have her sound out the "th". We've given up and know that someday, she'll just say The...hopefully.

Grilla = Umbrella

This one took us a while to get...it wasn't until she saw one in our trunk and said "grilla" that we finally got it. This also translated over into "Cindergrilla"...not sure where she is getting the "grrr" part.

Where is that flippin pole?

She definitely is fun to listen to!
