Saturday was a frustrating day for us. We are still waiting to see when Bodee can eat and it is quite apparent that he is really hungry and ready for it. His respiratory rate was high through the night so they decided to put the tube back into his belly. We were really sad at this but realize that there will be setbacks. After all of the progress that he has made, we will take a minor setback like this. They did chest xrays and found out that Bodee had fluid on his lungs due to the amount of fluids they had been giving him. So...that is why his respiratory rate was high and therefore they had put the tube in prematurely. By the end of the day, they had removed the tube again so that was a relief. They began giving him diuretics to try to get the fluid off of his lungs and this caused him to lose almost a pound. He also had his first poop which was a great sign as to how his bowels were working. Still talk of when would be the best time to feed him. Hopefully soon...it is breaking my heart!
