Here is the tree that little Bodee thought would be nice...I am guessing that's because he can't really see much right now and he was confused about our "Christmas Tree Standards."And the winner is...
This is Dakota and her daddy hanging up the singing Christmas ornament that Heidi & Aunt "Dell" got for her last year. We were reminded of our sweet Aunt Ardelle numerous times throughout the evening...mostly by the noises that came from all of the decorations she had passed along to us! You will be greatly missed, Aunt Ardelle, and will be thought of often during this Holiday Season!
This is what Bodee thought about the whole decorating experience...it wore him plum out!
And the finished product...train and all. Dakota loves to run the train, especially off the track. She keeps saying over and over that this is the best Christmas tree ever. She helped put a lot of the ornaments on...unfortunately they were all on the same branch so we had to move them around when she wasn't looking. We are so blessed to be able to spend Christmas at home this year. When Bodee was born, we didn't expect to be home for the holidays!

Christmas Tree Hunting
Well seeing as how there are only 8 days left until Christmas, we were wondering if we would be able to still find a tree that satisfied Mark's "real tree" fettish. Mark had seen a sign for a Christmas Tree farm right up the road from us so on Monday, we headed to see what they had left. It's a cute little family owned business that grows trees right on their land and also ships them in from the NC mountains. We looked through all of the trees on their land but finally decided on one that had been shipped in.
Here is the tree Dakota picked out for us....and although it would have outdone our tree from last year, we decided the tree wouldn't look as nice in the backyard!!!

WOW, I was just reading all of your blog and I am amazed at the will of this little guy. I am due to give birth sometime in the next 4 weeks to a baby girl, Ryann with CDH and I look at stories like these as such an inspiration. Our 3 1/2 year old keeps telling us everything is going to be ok and I am staying positive. Thanks for posting, although your posts brought tears, they were tears of joy. Feel free to follow our journey and post our link to your blog at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/ryannsmith

Ditto what Jaime said. I am the grandfather (Papa Don) of Olivia Bassett and your journey holds encouragement for all of us in the CDH family. Olivia's twin brother, Mason, is doing great and we have high hope that Olivia's repair surgery (scheduled for today) is successful. We would, also, be honored if you posted a link to Olvia's blog on your site. The address is http://oliviashope.org/journal.
I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Hi I just found your blog. I am so happy to hear that Bodee is doing so well. He really showed CDH who is the real boss!
