How is Dakota?

This seems to be the question of the week..."how is Dakota doing with all of this?" So, I decided to make a post just to show you all how great she is doing. Dakota spends hours at the hospital with us and she never skips a beat. She dances around the waiting room, talks to everyone in sight, and is a pro at washing up to go in to see baby brother. She knows exactly what buttons to push on the "elebator" and can find the cafeteria all by herself :). She walks into the cafeteria, heads over by herself to get her daily carton of milk, and then walks around with us trying to decide what she wants to eat.

It is a nightly ritual that on our way out, she and her daddy race down the tunnel that leads from the hospital to the parking lot. She'll say, "daddy lets race" and she takes off down the hallway screaming "see you at the finish line daddy." I slowly make my way down the tunnel only to arrive at the end and here her say, "mommy I won!" I am so thankful for a husband that has the energy to entertain her despite the long days that we have had here recently. He has truly been amazing with her and has made sure that she didn't feel left out in all of this.

I believe that Dakota has done so well because of the accomodations we have been provided. The house we are staying in has a room just for her with enough toys to last her a lifetime. There is a playground outside with a swing and a climbing wall. You will see in one of the pics that she had a little 4 year old boy here yesterday and they spent the morning harassing eachother. I got a look into the future when her and Bodee will be doing the same.

Dakota has grown up so much in this past week and we have been so proud of how great she has been. Even the nurses comment daily on how well behaved she is (even when we don't feel like she has been). They entertain her in Bodee's room with stickers and markers so she truly thinks she is on vacation. We hope you enjoy these pictures and videos of our little princess living it up at Duke University Hospital :).

I love it! Dakota is doing so well because of both of her parents and the strength they possess! Brodee just didn't get bravery, strength, independence, and maybe a little stobourness out of the blue. Give the parents a big hug, kiss and pat on the back! I wish I could be there with you all!

Hi, Dakota, It's She-Sha. Looks like you haven't lost any of that energy !! Give some to Mom and Dad. I'll just bet you can't wait until you can jump around with Bodee. I know you has been a ham around all of the nurses, too, batting those big blue eyes and long eyelashes at athe doctors! Dakota, what kind of food have you been eating in the 'restaurant' at the hospital? Chicken strips?? I love you so much and can't wait to see you at Christmas. Have fun with Mimi and Papka when they come in this week. She-Sha
