Bodee finally had his 9 month appointment on Wednesday and here are the stats...he weighs 17 lbs 4 ounces and is 27 inches long. This puts him down in the 10th percentile for weight and the 25th percentile for height. It's actually the news I was waiting for in order to decide to really start giving him formula and weaning him off of the...well...you know :). This was the exact time that I had to start introducing Dakota to formula because she was always so tiny. However, my little guy wasn't always tiny and his percentiles have decreased for the past few months. I think he was in the 25th percentile for weight at his 6 month and maybe even the 50th at his 4 month. Sooo, it's time to start trying to fatten this guy up. I'll be giving him formula to "top him off" after feedings and also at night before bed. This will start to hopefully transition him into just formula. Unlike Dakota, Bodee actually likes the formula...for the most part. Dakota never wanted anything to do with it. Other than that, the doctor said he looks great developmentally and is right on track with what a 9 month should be doing...crawling on all fours, pulling up on things, grasping things with his fingers etc etc. Mark truly is coming home to a brand new baby. The only thing the doc and I did discuss was a little hernia I had been noticing at the top of his incision. I had mentioned it in the past and two different doctors had said it was normal. Well, they hadn't ever seen it when he was mad and crying so I talked to the doc a little more about it. He said it did appear to be a little incisional hernia and that we should just watch it and see how it goes. Soooo, my little hernia-man continues to live up to his name.
Other updates for this little guy...his top teeth are FINALLY coming in. His top right tooth finally broke through yesterday after many days of seeing it coming. And...just like the other 2 sets, his top left is only a day or so behind it. So, he'll have more than just fangs in the front now...eventually anyway :). The other news, is that right after Bodee turned 9 months, I decided to try to get rid of the pacifier. We've only had a few days (yesterday's 15 hour day to the Outer Banks being one) where I've had to give in for the sake of sanity but it's been great. He only used it before to sleep and for car rides so now, he just cries for a few seconds before naps and bedtime and then he's good. I had heard that if you do it early...it's much easier. So far, that has been true. The last thing he's doing, is he nods his head yes to copy you or whenever you say yes to him. It's such an uncontrolled nod that it looks funny but it's amazing to see him interact. Anyway, that's what this little guy has been up to. Not much longer til dad gets home and gets to see what a fun and amazing little guy Bodee truly is :)
Here is Bodee nodding yes :)
This is Bodee doing zerberts with his mouth
And then here he is feeding himself mac & cheese :)

Dakota is so beautiful! And Mr Bodee is smarter than you may think.. I understand baby-talk and I can translate what he said while eating Mac & Cheese: "When the heck is Daddy Mark coming home?!?"
God bless,
