1st Day of Preschool

Well it finally came...the day Dakota started school. I threw around the idea last year but didn't really like the thought of her being in preschool for 2 years since she would miss the Kindergarten cut-off by a couple of months. Soooooo, I signed her up this year. She loved every part of shopping for new school clothes, school supplies and even her Scooby-Doo lunchbox ;). Mark was a little discouraged by the fact that the backpack she wanted had wheels but hey, that wasn't a battle I was choosing to fight. The school clothes part gave me enough of a headache!!!
The first day came, and she knew exactly what she wanted to wear...right down to her socks and shoes. I didn't know how it would go since in the past, she had not been excited about the whole school idea. We have been talking about it for quite sometime and I really think it paid off. Mark was working nights so he was able to take her in for her first day as well. We walked her in (while she wheeled her backpack lol), she put her stuff in her cubby...peaked her head in the room and kissed us goodbye. She has yet to look back since!
She is growing up way too fast. She has learned a ton already and loves every minute of the chance to go to school. Right now, she only goes Monday, Wednesday and Friday for half days...but I think she is ready to go the entire week...just not sure if I am yet :(.
See...rolling backpack...and she's so proud of it...it had to be like this for the picture.

Hey mom, the time out chair will make a perfect picture....very fitting!!! lol
